Riding On Paved Roads(non Public)

Recommended Posts

There are alot of private nonpublic paved roads by my cabin. I went up one full open in 6th gear and was thinking about the manual stateing not to ride on paved roads. What can happen? Should I not do this :( ? The only thing I noticed is when you hit the throtle hard while moving the fron end will lift up instead of the tires spining out. These roads are just like paved public ones I think they are that black top or concrete.

It's definitely against the law, but also pavement can cause the quad to flip or roll easier because of the abundance of traction. If you pay attention to what the quads doing in 6th on the asphault, you'll notice it will swerve slightly from side to side. One slight little jerk could cause it to flip. Now if you're going 6th wide open on a dirt road or on grass, you'll notice that it doesn't swerve as much because of the lack of traction. There's really not much of a difference in the tread wear that I've noticed. On loose surfaces, the tires spin more, causing more tread wear, whereas you don't spin much on asphault, but yet the loose surfaces are softer and less harmful in some circumstances than asphault. So pretty much you get the same amount of wear on any surface, just depends on how you're riding it.

No offense bud, but you really can't be this stupid. At first I just thought you were young, but you are giving the other young members on here a bad name. A little common sense goes along way. So at least now I know none can get you this far.

You have been a member for a whole 9 days and have 96 posts of nothing. It wouldn't even be that bad if it were 96 different questions, but most of them are the same one reworded.

I never usually take a stand on anything in here, but you are driving me crazy.

Broke, your not the only one that he's driving crazy. I've gotten all kinds of complaints, there is one way to some this kid up "POST WHORE". I've asked him numerous times to please keep all his questions he can in one post. People reply to his questions and he completly ignores them. I didn't think anyone could be this ignorant but I guess I was wrong.

Hi guys:

Well I hate to be one to "pile on" but it sounds like he went out and did it - ignoring the warning - then asked about the consequences. I enjoy helping anyone who wants to be helped. However, I must wonder if my time is being wasted.

Riding on different surfaces causes the Banshee to handle differently. The only significant consequence of riding on asphalt I have observed is excessive tire wear. However screaming down an asphalt road has ancillary effects depending on the environment. You can piss off neighbors and become a hood ornament for an oncoming SUV. Hell, a Banshee, wide-open in sixth gear, could become a bumper sticker on one!

Someone once asked me to consider "How does that affect you?" when I am critical of someone so let me explain. ATV riding has become increasingly political in recent times. There are those that want to stop us all because of the antics of the bad apples. We all have to be responsible and police our own ranks if we want to continue enjoying our sport.

Regards,

Bill
