87sheerips
I wonder why? I remember the old VW 1.9 ALH TDi motors use to have issues with cyl #3 due to the fact the way the intake manifold flowed. No. 3 cylinder would always get a rape train of boost shot at it, and sometimes that #3 rod would bend. Not bend bad, but bad enough to cause a drop in compression in that hole, and sometimes hard starting and poor running. Curious if that's the case on the 6.7? Excessive heat being closest cyl to the regen bullshit. Toasts the rings

Curious if that's the case on the 6.7? #1 and 6 run hottest on the inline 6 cummins, number 6 especially. As i understand it, it is also an airflow issue, both in and out. The outer 2 cylinders just get less airflow but #6 being crammed in the back suffers the worst. #6 is usually the one you toast due to excessive EGT even on the older non emissions motors. So if they are on the edge due to heat id expect thats why they are seeing problems with #

Actually i think it is common to all inline 6 motors, i know my uncle lost #6 on his Cat powered motorhome last year.

87sheerips
Being that my truck is never gonna haul anything significant I'm not too concerned... All of the "shanty draggers" here in elkhart run cummins hundreds of thousands of miles... It's all you see around here.... Shop recently had a 700,000 mile 6.7... Deleted at 120k... Yes she was tired but running.

87sheerips
You have nothing to worry about. Looking forward to the power. Guy said with the amount of soot in just 80k miles in probly 100hp less than stock... Plus the mild 60hp tune it should be a completely different truck. Thing flat Moves!! You have to be careful of the tranny though, it will slip on the high tune very easily. On a side note: He's also had to the typical Dodge front end work by 80K miles on a truck with stock size tires and never pulls anything more then a 3 place snowmobile trailer. I'm not getting the "5 tune" selector.... One tune only, for what I use the truck for. I can add more later if I feel the need. This is a mild tune geared toward daily driving and fuel economy. Turbo back 4" AFE with muffler, sinister EGR and cooler delete, mild EFI live tune. $1500 OTD installed, I'm all about it!

Just my $0.02 from having both fixed and adjustable tuners on various trucks, get a multi tune selector. It's nice to be able to select economy mode when your cruising, then click it up when you want to stomp on it at the stop lights. Also, if you get a tow specific tune, there is a noticeable difference in power delivery, especially torque delivery making trailer towing even nicer. Multi position are absolutely worth it.

Yea, its $275 so not a big deal. Ima stick with the local shop suggestion for now and see how she goes. I will not be stomping on this thing, that's what I have the old chevy for. (thats what I say now, with a choked down stock truck lol) Ohh, and yea I wanna take it easy on the tranny.

I'm gonna screen shot your response and bring it up later when you post pics of roasting the tires on the Dodge. Lol It's like the Banshee, once you get the itch, it's always there.
