Youngboy856
Hey guys i am new to the HQ and excited on my used 06 banshee.Bought it off CL for $3200 and previous owner took excellent care. it has the following add ons. -FMF pipes, new coolant hoses, plugs, fluids, chain.-K&N air filters, triple ported and polished jugs, jetted carbs, 200 Watt stater.-Newer grips, rear tires & rear rims.-Extra set of HID head lights mounted on front push bar great for night rides. I am new to owning and riding and will be enjoying in southern NJ and Pocono Mountains PA. 1st i want to change all the fluids and or add fluids. Where do I begin and any good guides or videos. I want to change oil, air filter cleaning, and all other fluids. What else? Also the winter weather is coming in and i plan to ride in snow and keep in garage any winter maint. I should do? Any suggestions on what oil and fluids to use? 2nd i want to clean the bike completely (strip stickers, clean plastics and motor etc). Any tips on products to use, what components to not get wet (electric air filter, pipes) and how to get a nice patina on the bike? 3rd I would like to order some 1 piece bars, i am 5'11 and like possibly a 1/4 off teh width on both sides. Any suggestions on good quality bars maybe a new stem and a video on how to change it out? Will be ordering grips and levers to. 4th Any suggestions on how to paint the nerf bars and rims. Would like to get them black on without breaking bank and chipping. if no good suggestions i will consider sand blasting and powder coating. as you can tell i am a newb but willing to learn and want to take good care of the bike. I plan to add a stage 2 elko shocks with plus 2s next month and considering other mods depending on how it gets used.

hoppedupandcutdown
You should find out what the previous owner used for oils. A responsible Banshee owner/seller would tell you and even give you some to take with you. I do every time I sell a 2 stroke, anyway.

Youngboy856
Yes he gave me a carton if his remaining oil, pre mixxed gas, plugd and some gasket seals. A friend of mine who races came with me to chfck it out and bought it on the spot. He wanted $3500 but offered 3200 plus he delivered. Tirle was in his name and vins all matched 1 owner. hoppedupandcutdown
Well BONUS then! LOL List what he used and gave you and mix ratio...you'll get plenty of recommendations here. I would think it best to continue using what it has in it, unless it's some oddball crap.
Youngboy856
Yes I'll check back with him on the specifics. beside the basic oil change what else should I change out or check with regards to fluids? I want to learn as much as I can on my own. i guess if any of you bought a used bike wha steps would you take? I watched a video on YouTube where a new owner drained gas changed oil and cleaned filter but is it really that simple?
