tc30thz
Ok guys need some input, I have a 2000 Banshee, Stock bore, stock Heads, V Force 3 Reeds, Stock Carbs, FMF Pipes And Silencers. Ran awesome for about a year, then one day I started it and the kicker stayed down, Then came up and busted the clutch cover and both upper and lower case. I just figured it was a kicker gear issue. I found a new to me set of cases, that were complete except for crank, rods, and pistons. I am a GM Technician by trade, so no big deal tearing it down and putting it back together with a manual. I did not see any issue with my kicker gear, but being not sure I used the kicker gear from the new cases. Worked great for almost 2 months. Then one day I started it and it did it again, broke the clutch case, and both upper and lower case. Any info Ideas appreciated before I put this thing back together again... special06shee
What kind of cdi are you running? Ive seen a non oem cdi actually fire the motor backwards. He busted multiple sets of cases until he figured out what was going on.

In all your time reassembling it, have you changed the bushing in the kicker gear?
tc30thz
It does have a aftermarket CDI box. And it did fire backwards one time, I started it put it in gear and it went in Reverse. Shut it down restarted it and it was fine. Everyone I told said I was crazy! Thanks for the info I will put it back together replace the bushing and get a factory CDI
