Gunner18
Okay there was a shipboard of oil in the pipes. The bike won't start now so I'm tearing the bike down. I notice one of the reeds was missing a bolt. The bottom case has been broken, and also the fly wheel case, only where the sprocket sits the seal is steal there. When I started it the bike fueled a 4 car garage with smoke so I killed it, and that's when it wouldn't start. I've pulled everything off besides the top and bottom end. Just discovered the frame had been snapped and welded. Also when I would try to start it I'd check the plugs and the right one would get so covered in oil it would cover the whole plug but the left side looks brand new still. I'm kinda wondering what I'm gonna find in the top end. I'm hoping the worst is just a rebuild for it. I'm worried about the bottom case be broken where the sprocket is. Opinions on what I should do that isn't gonna rape me money wise would be appreciated.
machinegunbanshee
"Expensive" is relative. I would guess if I was rebuilding around 1500 to 2000. And for me a rebuild on a motor in yours condition, all the upgrades the basic upgrades that make it better than stock. Including a mild trail port and stock crank being welded, clutch, billet pump n stuff. But you could do it for less just dont be a cheap ass about it and cut corners. You dont want to have to do it again in 2 hours after start up.
Deadbeat
take and post pics of the damage you find, you need a photobucket or tappatalk for that btw sounds like your bike was in a wreck
Gunner18
I mean just like new piston kit rebuild not a full rebuild. I'll take pictures when I get back to it. I won't cut corners. Should I buy a new frame?
Deadbeat
you mean actual oil and not premixed gas on one side
Gunner18
Yeah it's like straight black. Like someone dumped a quart of oil in oipes

Gunner18
No the tranny oil is clear, unless it's mixing with something.
machinegunbanshee
I would definitely do a leak down on this motor to verify seals or other leaks. Keeps things simple when you know what is broken and why.
machinegunbanshee
And I would be looking for a deal for a new frame while my engine was out. Why have a sound motor and a fucked off frame?

n2otoofast4u
There is ZERO reason why you shouldn't pull this clear down and inspect everything in the bottom. If the rest of the bike is that roached you can be assured there us something fucked in the bottom as well.
kawa110
All I keep thinking is jacked frame....jacked motor!!! Get a frame, start swapping parts.....while you get motor built by someone who knows. why try to fix junk!
sleeper06
Like green said , needs to be ripped clean down and inspected by a qualified person not someone who's not banshee specific, someone who has all the tools to measure and check tolerances on crank, cylinders head, reeds , basket . Seems like you have a basket case . That why in my original post I asked if you hydro locked it
