juldan1
Went riding at pismo on Wednesday and sucked sand. Didnt notice it until friday when I was out playing and had a loss of power. shut her down and came to conclusion that right side aint hitting at all. I checked stock filter and foam around the seal was broken away and sand was in there. Pretty devasted Where should I start. I'll be doing most of the work myself the stuff I can any way

.
I'd say you could go with 3 things. Pull the head on it and check it out, if everything seems alright, clean the hell out of your carbs and see if you can get both cylinders firing and run it. 2. if the topend looks messed up, rehone it/bore it if you have to, get some rings (pistons if you have to)and throw it back together and run it. 3. Chances are if it sucked sand it blew it in the bottom end which is where it would go first. Sand doesnt like to move to well when it sticks to oil, and it could work its way down into your crank bearings.....and you could get a nice kaboom from a bearing letting go. Pull everything apart, clean it very well......and work your way back up through the previous stuff I wrote.
fixitrod
I'd do a compression test first. If it shows low on one cylinder then time for a rebuild. If not, try new plugs and see if it's coincedence. If that doesn't work, clean the carbs really good. You may have just gotten dirt or sand in one of the carb circuits.
