Lowroll
In the past I've launched my banshee in 2nd gear and it's always been hit or miss. Sometimes it launches beautifully and other times it bogs down as soon as the load hits it. Recently I ruined my rear sprocket (teeth broken and bent forward) and when I let the clutch out it was just skipping teeth. So I went to a steel rear, same tooth count. Now it will not launch in 2nd at all. Just bogs right to nothing. I tried dumping the clutch, I tried slipping it, moving forward on the seat, different amounts of throttle, even aired the tires up hoping to break them loose easier. I feel as though the carbs aren't the issue as it has plenty of power throughout the power band when just riding around and 1st gear launches just stand the front end straight up. So what gives? Launching on dirt 15/40 gears 21/11/9 holeshots at 2-4psi Hjr ported 4 mil Stock swinger
trickedcarbine
What clutch springs? Any interest in going up a tooth or two in the rear?
Lowroll
Clutch is a tusk HD, 3 tusk Springs and 3 Toomeys. That setup has 2 days riding on it. I'm not opposed to going up a tooth or two. In 300' I'm not in 6th so I'm sure I could, up drop one up front. Surfrjag
Squish and timing?
Lowroll
.066 squish, timing is +6. 140psi compression. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Lowroll
When I was riding it this past Sunday on a fresh sprocket I noticed it wanted to lift the front end a lot more, I'm sure that's because there's less play in the chain/sprocket now. It actually surprised me the first time I made a pull on asphalt but even in grass and dirt she kept lifting the nose whereas before it would, but not near as easy Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Surfrjag
Your squish is to big What fuel? Shouldnt have that much timing with compression so low. Sounds like you have the wrong base gasket or domes
Lowroll
Kevin at HJR sent me all of it. I told him I was running pump gas. I don't remember the specs on my domes either but I think they were 23cc Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Lowroll
I retract my timing statement. It's currently +5. I debated calling noss and having a new set of domes shipped to me. I was told by Kan that squish should be 50 thousandths Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
sheerider11
I had the wrong domes from hjr as well. Could never get the bike tuned in. Was really low on power and I took the Jetting all over the place
Lowroll
I feel pretty good about my plug chop, this was 160 mains, I upped up to 162s after that. I will say that I feel as though the bike should be faster. I have felt that way since I first raced at Busco. It's definitely faster than stock, but a part of me is feeling a little disappointed about shelling out those bills and still getting occasionally outrun by a

I saw his shop and talked to him a lot. He knows his shit and can easily get you set up. Id say just cut your losses and start over. I'm sure he can salvage most of your parts. But he'll be able to set it up correctly.
Lowroll
He's roughly 2.5 hours one way. I really need to make the trip down to him and get it sorted out. I've spent so much getting this bike where I want it but I feel the engine just isn't 100% Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

I spent all this money and chased my tail. Finally I broke down and brought it to sleeper06. Glad I did. I had a totally different animal by the time I was done. Sucks I had to pay twice for the same thing but you get what you pay for.
Lowroll
What all did you end up doing/replacing to get it right? Not saying my issue is the same or anything but just curious.
