Abe
Just a tip, the full bearing clip doesn't always fit the cases. I have also heard some older cases don't have the upper half grooves at all. In my case I had the grooves but there was still too large of an od on the clip for my cases to fully seat. Can even double up the OEM ones.
registered user
the riveted brass cage style that were commonly used by quit a few folks had some failures. crankworks wont even install that kind anymore. seen em fail on single cylinders also dont quote me but i think some of the full circle clips might be slightly bigger diam that 2 oem clips. if the cases wont cinch down this is likely why. cut a few more thousands out of the groove and you be aight or grind the outside of the clip
sleeper06
Some of the tz failures I've seen the outer race split rite at the clip groove, I use oem half clip for the past 5 or so yes with no problems my guess is just a touch to much pressure on outer race . They'll live for a lil them boom
Big Mike NY
I've ru tz on various engines and havnt had on failure , for this particular build maxloads are the way to go My brother came by my house tonight, took the bike for a rip! He's amazed at the power difference and just how hard the powerband hits! Your porting and the Shearers are a match made in heaven!! The bike also shifts so much better it shifts better than when it was brand new!!!

Lowroll
Alright, got my refund from HJR, shipped his crank back this morning. Im going to get the new crank on the way so I can build my engine next weekend. 4mil hot rods crank 2 max load bearings Fresh copper washers for the head and an extra set of dome of rings just in case. My crank seals were brand new a month ago and they look fine, I have new gaskets. Anything else? And does anyone know if fast will put the new bearings on the crank for me? possum
Crank seals are fine. I like to put them back in the same way tho. They will usually have a lil mark on the rubber where the case halves meet. Rotate it back to that spot. Thats what I do never had a problem. Lowroll
I did notice that little mark you're talking about, I'll watch that when it goes back together. I'm going to use waterproof grease this time too as recommended by sleeper06. He said it'll hold up the best long term. sleeper06
At one time chuck was good builder, unfortunately he knows squat about banshees . He does build n port quite a few . He's the reason I started porting years ago . His magical jet size is 300 main every bike gets it rite wrong or indifferent. I have so many stories it's unreal he's the only one that gets away with charging to build a bike and let's it leave fucked up but swears it's the bomb
