KwikShee
CPI is about a half hour from me and I had the same question so I asked the owner. He told me small bore is the best up to around 450cc. Big bores only help if it's big cc and straight up drag set up. You will lose a ton of low and mid with bb pipes if you dune/trail ride. trickedcarbine
The CC limit is a bit different for some different pipes. The Shearers are typically 472-500 CC's depending on set up. The CPI's are about 440-465 CC's depending on set up. Some motors make a better number on one short dyno run or trip down the strip. Take that same motor and dune it for a couple hours and the bike gets heat soaked and power falls off. Now put big bores on it and it may not make the same power right away, but once warm they produce good power and won't fall off. All in set up and intended use.
