new2the'shees
Should I start a new carburetor thread? Or try to ride the cold start issue out with this thread? Any help is greatly appreciated here.
new2the'shees
Maybe try to just throw bowl back on carb and fire her up without a rogue jet floating in bowl? Why is it so hit or miss when discussing these starter jets on Banshees...?? Some people swear there is no such thing and you cannot find it in the schematics from Yamaha, yet banshee service manuals list them in the parts list on carb....??? Any input guys? new2the'shees
It is also listed on the choke circuit diagram in the banshee service manual, but the schematics don't even list the ot 1.4mm choke/starter jet....wtf am I missing here. aside from proper carburetion? oldskool
That looks like air jet. Mikuni's have an air jet, but they go on filter side of carb and there's no way it can fall in bowl. If you look at filter side you will see two hole at bottom of throat. See if one carb has jet.
CycleTech
That jet you found is the main air jet. Its located on the airbox side of the carb throat and its for air to the Emulsion tube/needle jet. It would have no effect on starting and how the hell did it get in the bowl?!?!? Stock to 2001 spec's call for a 1.6 M.A.J (Main Air Jet). Make Sure your carbs are synced and the idle adjustment is low enough that you are building a good vacuum to pull the fuel through the choke circuit on startup. It is the starter jet that was swapped into the wrong bowl. The whole reason my crap wasn't starting and left cylinder misfiring was because of non-chokeside bowl being swapped to choke side body...Was wondering and wondering why the jet wouldn't thread in there..... oldskool
Ok new2, the carb bowls are specific on stock banshee carbs. They cannot be switched. Are you running tors? Step 1. Clean carbs with carb cleaner and compressed air Step 2. Set needls at middle clip on both slides. Step 3. Install clean pilot and main jets in both carbs. Step 4. Put carbs together and install on bike. Step 5. Connect choke tube Step 6. Sync carbs

TORS Deleted, took forever to start or only on starting fluid. Left cyl ran lean, I'm thinking it has to do with 2 right bowls on the carbs. For anyone making fun of starter jets, that is the reason the bowls are choke side and non choke side specific...There is a jet that resides in the choke side bowl that is part of the choke circuit... Bought two stock carbs for $70 shipped from Power_Man... Thats the remedy. Nobody is willing to part with bowls, or at least I gave up looking and jumped on these stockers....Sound like a good plan of action TrickedCarbine?
