Popping Exhaust

Popping is typically lean. What is the current jetting set up at? I saw you had a cool head but don't recall the dome size. What CC domes?

I don't know what CC the domes are. How may I find out?. Can I just un bolt the cool head and find out . ?.

Please excuse my ignorance I'm new to the 2 stroke game . I have been learning a lot thought this forum though . Thanks for the help.

Yes, you should be able to pop the head off and see the engraving/stamping of some sort on the domes. You might find that your popping could be detonation. It would make sense to at least pull the carbs off and look in at the reeds to see if one is flopping around and not closing or even broken.

I'm betting you got 20cc domes in there if that info above is correct and it's not ported. What fuel type again?

 

Also that jetting could be fattened up a touch IMO, but 3000 feet up is kinda high. Could be ok. What do the plugs look like?

I pulled my reeds out yesterday . None of them were broken or chipped . You could see a bit of light at the end so I flipped them and they sealed correctly . I did notice a couple Of spots of light . Do you think that would be major enough to to cause that problem ?.

Compression is 140 and I'm doing 91 octane mixed 32:1. The previous owner did 93 octane and mixed 40:1 and it still popped .

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it . That's about the only thing I have not done . I'll pop the head off and check. What exactly will I be looking for ?.
