sheerider11
Hook that tester up to 10 more things. Stop riding the bike. Popping exhaust is always bad. Leaning it out is worse.

I hooked it up to an 02 banshee and it came back to the same reading . The only thing is that my 02 runs fine. I I took it out for the first time in AZ today and ran it a couple times . It ran strong I just don't know why it pops like that. My 02 just makes the normal riddling sound out of the pipes . sheerider11
I say hook that tester up to more stuff because HF testers are known to do that. Do a leak down test and stop running it. Check your electrical system too

Check your electrical system too Thanks for the advice sheerider. I'm doing the leak down test tomorrow and I'll post the outcome. Might stop gucking around and go get a good comp tester and not an HF one. What should I be looking for In my electrical system?. Im new to the banshee game . camp0429
Have you repacked the silencers lately?
04BRAAP
Have you repacked the silencers lately? No I have not . I recently purchased the bike from the original owner he didn't mention he had done it either. You think that may be what is causing the popping ?. camp0429
Definatly do all the basic tests, but its possible your packing is blew out, its hard to tell from the video though. I know it may sound dumb, but sometimes its something easy. A buddy of mine was having the same deal, it was poppin real bad, it had totally blew the packing out of one pipe. Worth a check anyway

Worth a check anyway I've also had this happen, I would explore all possibilities first though just to be thorough.
camp0429
Yeah it happens. I had another friends bike brought to my house earlier this spring, he thought the right side crank seal went out because it started smokin real bad from the right side pipe and sounded like shit, and ran like shit, come to find out this is excalty what had happened. It blew all the packing out. I assmue the smoke he seen was from the oil burning out of the packing. It definatly had a bad pop in that side
sleeper06
I would say tester is fucked up I doubt it would even run halfway decent with that static comp.. You might be getting blowby on the rings
sleeper06
How is the sync on the carbs? Do you know how many Cfm each side is pulling? Ohm check plug caps. Swap plug wires first see if it travels, if nothing happens then swap carbs and see if it travels you'll need a temp longer choke tube hose. If nothing happens with carbs check reeds for lost tension. It's hard from video but it sounds like fuel delivery loading up and misfiring . Can be caused by spark , reeds, carb ,airleak, check one thing at a time
04BRAAP
Thank you every one for the advice . I returned the cheap HF comp tester and got a good one . Right side measured 139 lbs and left at 140 lbs . How does this sound for pressure ? Leak down test kit is drying and I'll be doing that tomorrow . Today I grabbed some packing stuff for the pipes and will be working on that tomorrow as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
04BRAAP
I forgot to mention that When I did a couple runs the other day I noticed that the right fatty wasn't as hot as the left fatty. What would cause this?. The right pipe is the one that is popping . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
