I know these are not popular carbs but I got them for a pretty good deal. Little did I know they are a little more complex when it comes to tuning.

I put these on a stock bore/crank motor with a play port. I started my jetting at 32.5 on the pilot and 320 on the main. Warmed the motor up and took a long straight pass. It cut out at from 3/4 throttle and up, upped the main to 340, I was able to get it on the pipe and rev it out even though it was choppy in some areas.

So research was done and turns out aside from adjusting the main, pilot and needle you can also adjust the needle valve. Something I've never ran into.

So the question I am trying to ask is, do these carbs have a tendency to run a larger main? And what tuning can be achieved through changing the needle valve?
