dittmer Posted November 29, 2003 Report Share Posted November 29, 2003 I have a stud that gets a pool of coolent around the nut on the outer left side of my head i was thinking a new head gasket mite do the trick but it didnt when i took the head off there was a good amount of corrosion around 4 of the studs and none of them were next to each other Is this sht comon i have never noticed a drop in coolent wich makes me think i am paraniod but this quad cost more than most of the cars i have owned Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fixitrod Posted December 1, 2003 Report Share Posted December 1, 2003 Have it checked at a machine shop. I had a head that was .003 off and it dripped. If it's that slight, you can use a sealant on it. That high temp copper works. Another option is to have it milled. Might as well take a little off and add a little performance while your at it. How did you notice the leak was happening. Was it after a rebuild or something. I believe Boonman and ScottM here on the forum can hook you up. dittmer Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Share Posted December 1, 2003 i was cleanig my shee when i noticed a pool of coolent around one of the nuts on the head stud, so i kept an eye on it and it seems to leak after i shut it down i dont know of a good machine shop that works on shees so i am having my brother check and see if the head is warped. my brother is a machinist. i am thinking about letting him mill the head. does anyone know how much i can take off with out making other changes Thanx Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
