hello guys,

did someone have problems with a new set of DMC 916 pipes?

my friend ordered a new set of 916´s from ebay. he installed it an changed the jets in his stock carbs.

after some kilometers riding the left pipe was overheating the pipes is change the color. now its complete yellow due the silencer.

does someone know of mistakes in the production?

some facts about his shee:

motor stock

carbs stock

kn pod filter

jetting via EGT - temps on half throttle 350-400°C (left more than right)  wide open throttle 600°c on both jugs

thanks for help.

I have the exact same problem. Mine have gone yellow and have melted the shit out of the exhaust collars too. Bluejob works well to remove the yellow but the actual problem has not be solved yet. I run a 300 main middle clip.

my friend uses this adjustment:

mains 280

pilots  30

needle clip in the middle

air adj. screw 1-1 1/2 turns out.

plugs are lttlebit dark, but the plugbase is dry.

the right piston has some blowby, the left is looking new.

i drive his shee an it runs very well, bottom end is not so high like mine, but ok...
