theputz
I currently have a 421 serval and have pondered the idea of upgrading to a 521 super serval. Passed on what i have seen i could potientially see a 20hp increase if built correctly. I am curious how many parts will transfer over. Will my noss head and intakes/reeds work with a super? I believe my 39 pwks and shearer oof sb pipes will work...
trickedcarbine
A considerable amount will transfer. Head set up is about the only real difference. May wanna consider big bore pipes though if you stay shearer. Maybe Snipers or something custom If you can afford to do it. If you can afford to go bigger, go for it. RagunCajun
I run 39's on my 521 serval. Only went with that because my builder suggested it. I can't help with what will transfer over. Mine was very expensive but i really didn't have anything left from my old 4mil I could use. Hoping to finish it in two months.
theputz
So what would i need to look at; Head and domes, crank, ported cylinders, pistons and maybe pipes? I have a lock out, modded tranny, straight cuts and billet basket.

salmon_slayer06
When building a 421, do you replace the case studs with longer ones to hold the cylinders?
trickedcarbine
You can, I have a set of cub cases here with actual longer studs. Most folks run ARP stud extenders.
mike0chek
yep im just running extenders
