Finished the 421 serval build.

Specs:

Wiesco 4mil long rod

Unported serval cylinders

V force 3 reeds

26cc domes (145 psi compression.)

Passed leak down. No loss in pressure after 15 min.

Pwk 35mm carbs

165 main jet

55 pilot jet.

Needle in middle

Shearer inframes

New plugs.

300feet above sea

seems to have a "popping" exhaust sound mid RPM and kinda boggy. Once power band hits it pulls nice.

F.A.S.T is a little backed up. I've tried calling them.

The pilot seems pretty fat.

And why didn't you get the cylinder clean-up ported?

Non-ported Servals and Shearers leave about 10-12whp on the table...

sorry, it did have the "clean-up" port. i tapped out my funds right now.

i can always send em back in the winter.

so fat pilot. will put the stock pilot back in.  FAST sent me them, and i just automatically changed em. they must of been a "just in case" as they also sent me 3 pair of mains.

put the stock PWK pilots back in and it seems worse.

I'm not sure if the popping is in my head due to the pipes, as they just might give off that sound.

ill post a couple videos, im not sure if they will help, with wind noise and such,

hmmmm im not really hearing a pop in either of the vids.................you'd know if it was popping............

Okay, maybe it's just the pinging of the pipes.

I know nothing of these carbs.

I have the idle screw all the way in just to get em to idle.

So maybe I'm Lean. It seems to come and go, not always the same. Could it be spark issue? Coil dying?

I thank you for your help, but I'm lost. It was pretty straight forward to tune a stock carb bike.

If your idle screws are all in to get it to idle pilot is too rich , stock pilots are a 60 in 35 pwk so that's def no good , try a 48-50 pilot and see whet needle is in it if it's a deg needle try leaning it out one clip at a time , if problem persists might need a cel needle leave main at 165 till u get other areas sorted enouph to do a plug chop and be careful with your tune on that crank wiseco cranks don't like heat at all and will come apart if it's not on the safe side

Okay thanks for that info.

It is a CEL needle. I didn't mention that as I didn't know it was a big change.

I'll get some new pilots from fast.

Don't worry about it lol!

4 mil redline motor with a dune port.

^^^ Exactly what I'm going to build after my Labor Day Weekend in Pismo.

Does your sig reflect your build?

OP, I just reinstalled my Fireball LT front suspension yesterday.

Found out some cool stuff about the camber and caster angles as the suspension articulates.

I'm very excited to ride her now.

First time I installed the a-arms straight up from Fireball, caster was +10*.

Now it's set to +6*.

Initial camber is -1* now.

Today the Fireball +2 swing arm gets installed.

If ground clearance is a priority for you, you might want to look at those JD Performance MGC a-arms.

I'm pretty serious about suspension and handling.
