Deanshees Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I have a 2001Shee... FMF GOLD SERIES PIPES,stock carbs, boost bottle, air box has 2 silver dollar size holes, uni air filter, and it's been ported... Fouling plugs so I'm thinking it needs resetting I'm not sure what's in it now... Looking for help on figuring out what's happening and/or jet sizes... Thanks SHEE PEEPS!! Quote
Larry's Shee Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 If it ran with current jetting before porting, that's not your problem specifically. Quote
Surfrjag Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 report back with jetting and check your flywheel pickup gap and spark plug caps. a weak spark will cause fouling plugs Quote
Deanshees Posted August 8, 2015 Author Report Posted August 8, 2015 Ok I will pull the carbs and check... And yes it did run fine before porting... I'll get back will jet size Quote
Larry's Shee Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 That formed on flywheel nubs while waiting on cyls. Quote
Deanshees Posted August 8, 2015 Author Report Posted August 8, 2015 I'm pretty mechanically inclined... So pulling both carbs at once will be fine... I pulled and put the motor back in Quote
bigweav81 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I'm pretty mechanically inclined... So pulling both carbs at once will be fine... I pulled and put the motor back inThe one carb at a time reference was to not mix parts up........everyone's done it at one time. Who ported your cylinders? They should've gave you some baseline jetting info. Sent from my LGL34C using Tapatalk Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 heck, let's make sure the slides are in correct now. Quote
Deanshees Posted August 8, 2015 Author Report Posted August 8, 2015 When I did the break in on the new motor it ran and started every time very well... Then probably the 5-6th start up it started fouling plugs... Quote

Larry's Shee Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 That formed on flywheel nubs while waiting on cyls. Supposed to say "rust" that formed. Funny how it takes several posts for the whole story. By chance done a leak test ??? Quote
Deanshees Posted August 8, 2015 Author Report Posted August 8, 2015 Both plugs are fouling... It ran really well for the first few(3-4) start up/ rides Quote
Deanshees Posted August 11, 2015 Author Report Posted August 11, 2015 Have not done a leak down test... I pull ONE of the carbs and it has a 290 main jet and a 25 pilot jet... Re jet or no reject? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Pilot is certainly way lean, but to be ported on a 290 main and still foul plugs... Something fucky is going on. May need to go through electrical and do all the simple stuff. Quote
sleeper06 Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Compression test it I have a theory but would like to see compression numbers first Quote
