weeheavy
just finished putting the bottom end together and when spinning the input shaft and holding the countershaft in neutral there is quite a bit of drag. Double checked washers and clips were in correct position. Shifts through all gears nicely. Seems to go from tight to not so tight but can be spun by hand. It def seems like I have a thrust washer in wrong. Thanks for any help.
sprinklerman
Is it completely assembled with sprocket on it already? Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
weeheavy
Yes I did put collar and sprocket on because I know it pulls that shaft tight. Also put the basket and hub on wth no plates and torqued it up.
sprinklerman
Try less tq on the nut and then tap it , along with shaft ,fairly hard back in towards right hand side of bike . 3-4 solid whacks with ball peen hammer , with a socket that's smaller than nut. weeheavy
You were absolutely right. I ended up pulling it apart again to check my work and noticed 2nd gear on the countershaft was pre loaded against the thrust washer and clip. I held the shaft upside down and gave it a whack with a deep socket and a brass hammer and its a free wheelin gear again. Thanks very much sir.
