jeff n
My buddy just got his motor back from a shop that did a complete 4 mil build from top to bottom. He gets is back in the bike and starts it up, not good. Shuts it down takes it back to guy that built it and tells him the clutch is screaming, the guy looks at my friend like he's crazy and says drop it off and he'll look at it. Calls 15 min later and tells him that it had no oil in it that he should have put it in. When my buddy asked why he didn't put oil in he says we never put oil in the motors unless he is doing the install because you have to tip the motor to install. What??? Then when asked why it matters he just says that's just the way we do it but I put some oil in so now you owe me another $15. Is it wrong to expect the newly built motor to have oil in it? BANSHEE HP
Yes. Was he charged for oil? The owner of the machine should be checking the fluids also. Im my personal experience I've built many atv and automotive engines and non of them get oil before leaving. Now I always tell the customer that no water or oil is in the engine
hoppedupandcutdown
Not Banshee related, but...I've bought many, many, many new and rebuilt, car, truck, boat, engines, automatic and manual transmissions, and even lawn mowers. None came with oil in them.
BANSHEE HP
too further my response, when we did install the motors, theres always a customer that complains when we add 3 gallons of antifreeze and 6 quarts of oil to there bill. like it should be included in the price of the motor alone. sheerider11
Oil is never in a motor if I don't install.
dozer
I never put oil in them for people. I do let them know that I don't ahead of time though.

n2otoofast4u
If you're too fucking stupid to check fluids before fire, you're too fucking stupid to own/ride the bike!
BANSHEE HP
the old plugs may have been just to keep dirt and debris out of the motor during shipping

jeff n
The spark plug question was in reference to my bike, the whole bike was dropped off and I was told all was good but it wasn't. I have a post about the plugs under what makes a spark plug do this? Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
jeff n
To the sailer on here if you're so offended by what think are stupid questions, then don't read them. People like you make it a pain for people new to this to find out more. Prick! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
troyzstang
If you're too fucking stupid to check fluids before fire, you're too fucking stupid to own/ride the bike! Have to agree. Standard procedure to check all fluids before first start up. Don't blame the mechanic. This ones on you guys.
jeff n
Not me. My buddy. I wouldn't have not checked the oil. But in all fairness everyone on here has said they don't put oil in but they all have also said that they are sure to tell people that they need to. Not yep it's good, go break it in.
