hondaracing02
We've talked this over before, but i have a froze push rod and need to split the cases. I have the motor out and ready, as well as a clymer repair manual, but where do I start? Do I have to pull the topend, cylinders etc? becuase ive heard that if you pull the topend the rings may not seat in again correctly. Thanks! #1JUANstunna
Flip the engine over and pull of the bottom case if you don't want to pull the top end.
special06shee
If you have a "froze push rod", its probably worth pulling it all apart to inspect top end as well.

hondaracing02
is the bottom half pretty easy? never thought of that.. wont crank be in the way? will i still need that clutch puller tool?
Larry's Shee
IIRC just flywheel puller so you can get stator plate off. Never heard of a clutch "puller".

Never heard of a clutch "puller".It's called a cordless impact and a glove in my world. No need for those fancy holders imho. hondaracing02
i have an impact, that should have enough torque then? illgive it a shot! anyone want to point me in the right direction though as to where to start? motor is upside down on workbench.. what all do i need to remove? bolts/parts wise
possum
The clutch nut is 60 some odd lbs. So yea an impact does the trick. Use zippies or a tie down to hold the crank up into the top case half.

If you don't have a Clymers, should get one, or find the PDF on here.
