splitting The cases..

Recommended Posts

We've talked this over before, but i have a froze push rod and need to split the cases. I have the motor out and ready, as well as a clymer repair manual, but where do I start? Do I have to pull the topend, cylinders etc? becuase ive heard that if you pull the topend the rings may not seat in again correctly.

Thanks!

i have an impact, that should have enough torque then? illgive it a shot! anyone want to point me in the right direction though as to where to start? motor is upside down on workbench.. what all do i need to remove? bolts/parts wise

Good place to start is with a manual.Tells the order bolts should be loosened/tightened. If you don't have a Clymers, should get one, or find the PDF on here.
