banshee_rider95 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Its getting gas all the way down to the carbs, but then thats where it stops. Quote
Aussie Quad Racer Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 how do you know this??? Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted November 27, 2003 Author Report Posted November 27, 2003 because the plugs are completly dry...and the fuel pours out of the overflow tubes. anybody else?? Quote
Aussie Quad Racer Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 if the fuel is coming out the overflow then the bowls are full(over full) The only thing from there is the jets. See if they are blocked. Has the bike been sitting? Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted November 27, 2003 Author Report Posted November 27, 2003 it has been sitting for a little less than a week.. i was thinking that maybe my floats were stuck. Is that a possibility? I think im just goin to pull that carbs and give them a good cleaning maybe that wil help...anything else i should check? Quote
Banchetta Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 If the floats were stickin then the gas wouldn't come out of the overflows.....make sure you have spark.. Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted November 29, 2003 Author Report Posted November 29, 2003 its got spark....i put new plugs in it and after trying to start it they are not even wet. And Gas pours out of the overflow tubes Quote
Banchetta Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 Damn.....make sure the choke tube is in place, have you done anything to the shee since the last ride out??? maybe air cleaner got wet and froze??? possibly swapped the bowls on the carbs so the choke isn't working?? I need more info on what happened between rides.... Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted November 29, 2003 Author Report Posted November 29, 2003 i havnt did anything to it. it was running just fine....then the kill switch stopped working. but i shut it off a couple of times after that and it started up just fine.but i really didnt let the motor get cold. I parked it in my yard and went out a couple hours later to put it upand it acted like it wasnt getting fuel. And fuel pours out of the over flows...the only thing that i did was put new plugs in it. And my air cleaner is fine.. Quote
wheeleymaster99 Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 try drain some gas out the drain screw in the boddom of the boul that will tell ya if theres gas down there and a lot of times it will clean out the carb and maby slove your prob Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted November 29, 2003 Author Report Posted November 29, 2003 im goin to try that right now..... Quote
Banchetta Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 Is your tors still connected?? The tors will retard the timing or even miss every other fire...It'll act like its running on one cylinder but both are working...Sometimes they start and run shitty. Other times it wont' start at all.... Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted November 29, 2003 Author Report Posted November 29, 2003 my tors is dissconnected....i just took my bowls off and cleaned everything out with an air house and carb cleaner. They were clean....i pulled the choke out and it had dirt around it. I cleaned it up and kicked it bout 10 times to get the gas flowing.... i pulled the plugs and........................still dry as can be . But fuel isnt pouring out of the over flow now....somebody what the hell is wrong?? I just bout new rear wheels and tires and i want to ride....grrrrr Quote
Banchetta Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 It has to run..Spark and fuel = running... Try pouring a little gas in the spark plug hole and see what happens. If it starts then its not getting fuel. If it doesn't then you have another problem....You can also check the reeds.... Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted November 29, 2003 Author Report Posted November 29, 2003 alright....im goin to check the reeds...and put some fuel in her and see if shee will fire. Quote
