bmccormick08
But... But, the jet kit has to be right. It's a stage 3.I was hesitant to even join a forum for this reason. I came for help. Not smart ass remarks man. I'm starting from 0 and thought I was doing right. Surfrjag
Your buying a bunch of jets you may or may not even need. If it even has the ones you need at all...
bmccormick08
So what would be the best starting point for me to work from on the pilots and mains until I can A. Plug chop or B. Dyno it Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Surfrjag
Yfz shocks ride like poopoo. If all your trying to do is lower it some blaster shocks are much cheaper and ride like poo as well. Rm stators crap out, you can google that one and see multiple testimonials to their junkness.
bmccormick08
It's just their timing plate. Not replacing the stator itself. I had read a ton on 450 shocks but nobody mentioned blaster shocks. I have a guy that can revalve them for me Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Surfrjag
I have seen a few of those cast plates crack and peices rattle around in the housing till it busts the pickuo coil. Mattoon makes a billet one. Make sure you use locktite! The headgasket should be fine and ball joints you cant grease. Flush the fuel (prob already did..) and check wheel bearings and brakes. Once your jetting is good and clutch works right. You should be good...
bmccormick08
This plate is machined, as I don't believe a lot in cast parts from other things I work on. Fuel tank and carbs were empty when I got it and fuel flows clean from the tank so I assume that's all okay. Brakes work great. Haven't checked bearings yet. I guess the current setup will be Stock internals Stock carbs Fmf sst stingers with power core 2 silencers +4(?) timing advance Ngk Iridium plugs Individual filters 32:1 with 93 octane and yamalube 2r Boyesen 2 stage reeds Reed spacers So based on that should I start with a 260? 270? Surfrjag
Stock airbox without lid 27.5 pilot 280 main I would start there and plug chop
bmccormick08
The stock air box was broken so I pulled it out. Have 2 k&n ru-0210. I think that's the number. Just straight elements Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
dirtydownunder
you can save ya self some cash and just buy br8es (or b8es, not sure when the change over was) spark plugs, iridium plugs dont help, just more expensive.
Coupelx
I like the iridium plugs once you get it jetted. they run forever it seems. Fantastic for a turbo car. AS far as the timing plate it seems just recently the cast ones became an issue. Ive had one in my shitbox since like 07 or so and i bought it used. As far as the yfz shocks they are too long for the banshee and rather stiff. a minor step up from stock. been there done that.
bmccormick08
Now I'm getting some better feedback. I did grab 4 generic Ngk b8es plugs for chopping once I'm ready. I just personally prefer Iridium plugs in everything I own. I just wrapped up the timing plate set at +4, I'll try to get some jets tomorrow at one of the shops in town Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
dirtydownunder
i usually only put platinum / iridium plugs in stock vehicles you dont want to have to check the plugs for a long time. on all my performance stuff, they get normal plugs. ive had normal plugs last 40+hrs in the banshee, only reason i changed them was because i put another motor in it and wasnt going to use old plugs. they still looked good tho. personal preference i guess. Shit don't get sugar coated, or made P.C. Ricky Stator is shit. Quality challenged is the PC term I guess. As to the lowering kit, more fucking shit. IF you actually read the description most all say not for jumping. Buy the right parts the first time. Buy once, cry once, save a ton of money, grief, and time.
