ZILLAKILLA
I currently have two major cracks in my +4 swingarm I bought off eBay about two years ago. I pay $250 for it. I need to get another one but I want to get a good one from a recommended shop or wherever. Anyone have the same problems with the +4?? I I need to get another one but I want to get a good one from a recommended shop or wherever. Anyone have the same problems with the plus am running stock suspension and I do have a heheavier spring for my weight but I know it still has extra stress on the swingarm I do plan on getting upgraded front and rear shocks soon but I need the swingarm first until I save for the suspension. Thanks.

sheerider11
If your packing the shock any swing arm will crack. I've broken 2 swing arms. +2 and stock length. I now have a roll and a freshly rebuilt rear shock. I talked to John at JL and he was the one that told me about the shock. I was ready to pull the trigger on his stock length MX arm but a deal came up on my current. But he said if I ran a blown rear on even his HD gusseted like crazy MX arm it would still probably crack. He said before I get one, get my rear shock in check.
locogato11283
That makes zero sense. Shaws have hardly any travel and they're all over the place on all different makes of lightweight built swing arms. I'm sure there is an occasional failure but if that info were correct you'd be seeing them all the time.
tfaith08
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that a lot of it comes down to how hard it's ridden before that's taken into account. JL, roll, etc. probably build arms to account for the above average rider who actually need to consider whether they'll be packing the shock or not. A lot of people won't have to worry about cracks. Some guy that screws a double with a +4 on a shock that's setup for stock length arm and a weight 100lbs under what he actually weighs will probably run into a crack or 2, but then again, that consideration comes from a builder standpoint where idiots put their reputation on the line. I was running a stock shock when I broke both swing arms. I'm sure guys aren't running shaws on a track or the trails. Most that run shaws are drag guys. They'll make a quick run through the whoops and that's it. A trail/mx will keep going jumping whoops slamming the thing.

Frankthetank
I have a +4 swing arm for sale. It is setup for the Honda round carrier.I used it on two rides and realized I needed a plus 6. It is in great shape and has extra gusseting on it as well as the spots to mount a skid plate. At the moment is powder coated white. I have around $550 into it. I would sell it for 400. Let me know if your interested edit.... I forgot to mention that Jeff at FAST racing made it for me.
