bad bog/ no power

Recommended Posts

Service manual specifies, less than 120 psi....replace top end. And if you use stock b.s like Namura pistons/rings. You may still be at 120. But if you used any decent kit like pro x or vertex or wiseco, the dome is much more aggressive and you will have a 160+ comp reading.

Has anyone ever actually measured different pistons to where they could say "Yeah, a brand X piston is .xxxx " taller than brand Y piston"  ????

Isn't compression primarily changed with dome size?

if pistons have different height, guess what, you just changed port timing.

 Well, ................ duh.

Was mostly a challenge to joshassclown, lol. And the fact I've seen lincs for high comp pistons before, which I know is boggus. By the time you got any meanful gains on comp your squish would be out of this world.

Ever wonder what the squish shrinks to under operating conditions? Expansion from heat, the tiny bit the rod strecthes as it comes to a halt at TDC?

Got a chance to ride it a little yesterday. Put the 27.5 pilots in and oem needles on 3rd clip position still has bad bog from 1/4-full throttle. Do these billet intakes cause any problems since the carbs get pushed back from the engine?

I've never had any issuies with my billet intakes besides them leaking. I used rtv on the gaskets to keep that from happening.
