Gemeiner Posted May 19, 2015 Report Share Posted May 19, 2015 stupid question. would you trail ride with extended a arms? or are they too wide? would they make any improvement? also how could I get more clearance under my banshee? and what would give me more travel? im a lot lower than my friends 400ex. pretty sure I just need to upgrade my suspension. Gemeiner Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 trail meaning not the desert, tighter rockier more obstacle riding. ive never used or even seen extended a arms in person. a 4 inch lift for my truck sounds like nothing until you see it in place. would better suspension give me any more clearance or do I need to do something else. its not necessarily longer just because its a better system. and doesn't mean longer shocks would fit without some sort of alteration. Gemeiner Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 wondering if anyone has tried it on some tough trails and if it just got in the way. where I live theres a lot of rocky, technical shit but also some long roads. so id be hauling ass and then all of a sudden hill climbing and into some tight cornering in a lot of brush. I scrape bottom on the rocks sometimes. and I want more travel. idk how to get more travel. more than likely extended a arms are impractical for my area but if theyre not too unwieldy id like to know. thinking about some changes I can make. My stock stuff is still tight, but twelve years old so i know it shouldn't be long until it isn't. I'm not as worried about ground clearance as the op, but track width needs to be kept in control. Is there a certain brand that's screaming ' bang for the buck', or are they mostly of equal quality? I'm not trying to be cheap, but with a wife and kids i have to balance the budget. 98_sheester Posted May 26, 2015 Report Share Posted May 26, 2015 I been doing some hare scrambles and the trails i ride are made for like 2 dirtbikes so extended arms could get in the way esp if you come onto a tight corner witha tree on each side lol but over all performance with extended arms and good shocks are night and day but youd want to go atleast +2 on the rear as well....if you can get to 50" all the around with out being to wide for your trails id do it 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
