H300F
Well afer 5 months I finally got my project done. shes alive and well. I redid the frame and plastics, and because my stock crank let loose in july, I put in a 4mm longrod stroker crank with Jim's porting from Passion Racing in oklahoma and new 60over pistons and 22cc domes, im not running any base gaskets so I have more compression then 22s with base gaskets, and a spacer plate on the bottom. First things first, she flat out rips. Now I know I can get more power from her, but i am a trail rider and you have to remember that, i like my lowend just as much i as i love the topend. so knowing that i didnt build this engine to be a hyped up drag bike, but i did build it to be a hyped up trail machine and that is what she is. dont take me wrong, this engine will burn a lot in a drag, she takes off like her ass is on fire. Now for my other mods i am running along with this setup. Well I told jim how i liked bottom end and trail rider so he did a little bit midler port setup on her, and also said the crank adds a lot to the bottom. I kept my paul turner mids, and stock carbs. The mids work great with this setup from what i can tell, and the stock carbs also work good, but from jims advice i should throw a set of pj34s at it, which i plan to do, i can tell the stockers are limiting the top end. I am running a dyna ignition, delta vforce 2 reeds, and airbox with no lid and a k&n. now for todays ride review. well i got a total of 3hrs on her. 2hrs breaking in, and 1 hour of what i couldnt wait any longer for, letting her loose. i def notice that i find myself in 4th gear often in the trails instead of like i used to be in 2nd or a boggy 3rd. easily pulls gears. it pulls harder when out of the powerband and can pull a taller gear out of the corner. when she is opened up all it wants to do is lift the front end. I will be taking it back out friday for a full day of riding. and if you are considering jim do it. his work looks great as well as performs great. quick turn around and dont worry about him mixing up your shit or ripping you off, my cylinders came back packed with the same newspaper packing as i sent with them. awesome job on the porting and he always responds to your questions. when i first opened the box and looked in the cylinders i went nuts. he can cut and grind some bueatiful work. overall i can say i have a great all around banshee. she has the capability of riding trails, mx, anything, and when you gotta do some business she screams and pulls very hard up top. what a rush. i am very happy with the engine and finally i can say im done modding once i put the carbs on it. now its time to kick some ass. i will add another post on friday with my 2nd reviews and how she does against other shee's. later. InFlames
Hey, thats kick ass to hear about your new engine. I was highly considering jim for porting my cylinders and still am. How much did he charge for just the porting? I saw "justintoxicated's" porting from jim and it looked top notch. Did you get a package deal from him or just the porting? thanks alot ben.
