2005Bansheee
You guys have all seemed to of been there done that with your bike mods. I on the other hand have never touched mine. However have been riding for 25 years. I'm sure you guys know the mistakes to avoid. Knowing what you know now, If you could start from scratch and mod your bike all over again how would you do it? Basically I'm looking for someone to just take my hand and say here soney, do all this to your bike and it will be awesome. I'm a good rider so I want to be scared. But above poster makes a good point. I don't want to fill it with gas all day long. And I want a solid engine I don't have to tweak constantly. For instance, i had a bunch of kids over the last 10 years. I haven't fired my banshe up for at least 5 years. I changed the plugs, oil, and gas, and the thing fired up 2nd kick. I love that about my banshee so I def don't want to fuck with that. So I want it as fast as I can get before I start messing with a good thing. Sandking
You need a 4 mill serval or 4 mill stock ported cylinder. HJR can do a solid port job on stock cylinders. Have a sponsor put it together for you if you have limited mechanical skills. You will just have to figure out carb tuning or take it to a dyno. trickedcarbine
Local guy? Can you google him and find good reviews? Can you find other people with similar work he has done? "I will port and bore your cylinders, (<why is he boring it?)wiesco pistons, pro design cool head, v force reeds, 4mm stroker crankshaft, ignition timing plate, modify stock carbs, (< what carb mods)torr kit removal, pro design intake plate and k /n air filter in stock box, custom exhaust (<which exhaust), Yamaha Performance clutch(<stupid)all new seals and gaskets, Total Price parts, labor tax, machine work $3000. take $500 off if you don't want the 4mm stroker crank let me know" As you said you wanna occasionally track ride I'd say for your level of tuning and wrenching experience is, definitely say re work the stock cylinders or if you get more coin, do a serval. troyzstang
First off welcome to HQ Speaking from limited experience here. I've had a stock cylinder , 4 mil stock cylinder , 4 mil cub cylinder and a 10 mil cub cylinder. A 4 mil stock cylinder done correctly will satisfy your need for speed and remain reliable. *** Make one call to Cam at Redline *** He will get you from start to finish without drama. Just that simple. Good luck Troy
2005Bansheee
Thanks guys. So from the sounds of it I should go with some version of what yakkey racing wanted to do. Since HJR and Yakkey are the only ones local to me I'll prob go to one of them. "I will port and bore your cylinders, wiesco pistons, pro design cool head, v force reeds, 4mm stroker crankshaft, ignition timing plate, modify stock carbs, torr kit removal, pro design intake plate and k /n air filter in stock box, custom exhaust, Yamaha Performance clutch, all new seals and gaskets." jeremyshee
ive been doing a shit ton of reading on here and trying to learn as much as I can. ive learned a lot but really only a half of a percent of what these guys know. if you look around on here youll see that most suggest a good tight strong chassis first then do your motor. I started my motor and god damn wish I did my chassis first. like I said before, wish I would have learned of banshee hq before all of my fuck ups lol

SandSlingerOR
Yeah maybe you better look into suspension mods first. You did say you wanted to hit the track.
