I am riding a '98 shee in the woods at night, when i go around a corner, of course I am not revved up all the way meaning I am not getting max light output. Therefore, i cannot see around the corner. Does anyone know what would be needed to make the lights not go off immdiately like it does. I wouldn't mind even a slow 4-5 sec. drain instead of the 1/2 sec drain. I have heard there are battery kits and some people say use a cap. I need a cheaper route b/c I am a college student. Also i want to keep the weight down. Banshee109 Posted November 26, 2003 Report Share Posted November 26, 2003 i had the same prblem then i installed a ricky h.o. stator and and it makes the light a hell of a lot brighter then i went out to walmart and bout an offroad light kit for a truck made a braket then mounted those on my bars and hooked em up to te ricky and holy shit i can see forever...lol go with a ricky. boonman Posted November 26, 2003 Report Share Posted November 26, 2003 I suggest using the clutch to keep the bike revved up a little for some light output, or you could downshift. or, you could use a capacitor, or a battery eliminator(same thing as a cap, actually, it is!!) but for 4-5 seconds, it would have to be fairly large. Skiddz Posted December 21, 2003 Report Share Posted December 21, 2003 I hated that very thing about my 'shee when I first rode it at night. My solution was pricey, but works great. Alba 260w stator and 4 Ricky Stator 55w Illuminator lights. I replaced the factory "fender" lights and added a Ricky Stator top clamp with light mounts and put two lights up there. Fender lights come on with the low beam setting, all 4 light with the high beam setting. They all come up to full brightness just barely off idle.
