theputz
I recently went from 35 pwks to 39s with new filters to match. My snipers were a tight fit before and now I cant see how I wont consistently burn air filters. I am considering going out of frame pipes but unsure as I do dune/trail a little as well. Any suggestions?

dave5.0
Ya good luck. Nice pipes. But clearance is an issue. What intakes are you running?

BUILDER
Header wrap from the parts house will work just fine or buy the cascade wrap either one will work. If you wrap them then it will not ruin your outerwares. If you ride trails I would not suggest going to out of frames but if you do please post pictures after your first ride lol
sheerider11
My header wrap wears holes into the outerwears and filters.

srp
Cutting 7/8" off of the filter spigot length will help the clearance on any brand of pipes. Also will help performance, the engine does not like any fixed diameter tube behind the carbs. Looks like you have more room between the frame and tailpipe than the test chassis did. I have some 1" x .400 spacers to space out the silencers, they will pull the tailpipe in closer to the frame for a little more filter clearance if you or anybody else with Snipers needs them. The spigot and reed block angle varies on aftermarket cylinders and even varies on the same brand from time to time. Just a degree or two will get the tailpipes into the filters or frame. Some thin pie shaped reed / manifold spacers would be a big hit with anybody running in-frames with fitment issues.
trickedcarbine
Bigger motor, bigger carbs, bigger filters, bigger pipes. SAME SIZE FRAME. Naturally the math isn't in favor of any banshee owner. Put some High Temp Fire Sleeve on there and be done.

Just takes the right combo of intake and filters. I still put fire sleeve on all pipes now.
theputz
Thanks guys! Trimming the filters helped but still rest on the filter. Will continue to play around and see what I can up with.
