Are you wanting to know how much you can shave off the head?
fixitrod
Oh, I see what your saying. What's the highest compression number the stock head gasket can handle. dlnoss will be the man to answer that. There are a lot of people that have different opinions, but he makes head
dlnoss
I don't really know how much compression a stock head gasket will take. All of my experience is with orings. ScottM, Patriot Racing and some others on the site mill stock heads and would have a better answer. Sorry to pass the buck.

mofuger.1
Just port and polish the motor and get rid of the factory pipes, sync the carbs, change reeds and add spacer, add hinson clutch plates and basket and add a weisco piston for starters. boonman
I have had safe dealings while on pump fuel at about 1000 feet of elevation with .030" off the head. Anything more off the head, and you risk having to switch to race fuel.. I am currently at 195 lbs of compression on the stock head and domes. I blew a head gasket once due to a faulty torque wrench. I have not had a problem since...
