First Banshee Project : The timming plate.

Hello, i'm a new Banshee owner, 2006, T5, sport porting, head shaved a little bit, 137psi compression, VForce 4., still on stock bore, no frame/electrical/suspension mod at all.

The fist thing i will do is rebuilt the bottom (tranny bearings, seals and check the crank), but it's cold here in Quebec and i will wait a couple of month before doing so.

Since i need to do something on it right now i decided to start my mods by doing a new timing plate.

I dont know if this post is in the right forum, but for people who like CAO/CNC machinning, that should interest you ;-)

This is what i use to measure the plate : 2dtn043.jpg

I'm using Catia V5 for CAO and a DMG 5 axixs mill (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpydPwF3Kww)

First step: unmount and measure it!!

So, i will keep you in touch with the process and post some pic soon.

Killer, new level DIY. Are you modding the stocker or making a new plate?

New, billet one from 6061T6. I will put pics of the entire process. Maybe a little vid of the CNC machining  too ;-)

I have a lots of projects for the Banshee (plates, impeller, hubs etc)

Here is one of my last project, a 30cc engine case for a 1/5th scale baja.

Ok, first kind of an udpdate! lol!

I disassembled the cover, foot peg etc, to discover (dumb me to not thaught about that) that i needed a puller!

So, i will make a puller tomorrow. 27x1, left handed. Will put some pics, i think i will make it in aluminium.

In a shop where there is equipment for threading already set up, I bet you could make one fast. In a pinch last year, I made one in about an hour with a huge nut and bolt. The nut just got turned down to eliminate the hex shape and get it down to a size where a dye could be ran over it.

Didnt finished it yet, i will check the thread before

I know it's about 15$, but last time i ordered a 15$ thing on the net it cost me the double (taxes, shipping etc).

Anyway, it's the first time i was doing left handed thread on our new semi auto lathe.
