arena314
I haven't been riding it since then. How do you go about a leak down test?
Larry's Shee
Google is your friend. Some say 6lbs for 6 minutes, 7 for 7. I use a Harbor Frieght cyl tester, couple plumbing pieces for the intake & ex. I need to "modify" the pvc cap I use for intake so I don't need to use spark plug hole. In doing the test if it won't hold air you test the tester for leaks, then move on to engine areas. By chance you don't have a boost bottle do you? arena314
I had one but I took it off because I heard bad things about them but I don't have the original crossover for it so I looked up what I can do and I heard can tips work well to plug the holes so I went out and bought some of them and plugged the crossover holes with them
Larry's Shee
Don't know what "can tips" are, I used some pvc caps I glued in with 3Bond. Don't need no stinkin crossover. When you do test, that is one area to check for leaks.
arena314
I meant cane tips* and if that's leaking what damage does it do to the top end and how bad will it make the bike run?
wayne_smith97
It will burn up the top end
arena314
Would it cause the problem I'm having with my bike?

arena314
I think the jetting would be it because it has stock jets in it
hoppedupandcutdown
I think the jetting would be it because it has stock jets in it ^^That and if your cane tips are rubber and on the outside of the rubber intake boot, NO WAY that will seal properly. arena314
Should I try fixing that first?
hoppedupandcutdown
Get you some big jets and do a leakdown test and stop riding it before you melt it down.

arena314
So I was thinking a 290 main but not completely sure what to use for my pilot any recommendations with the mods I have?
hoppedupandcutdown
FMF recommends a 30 pilot and a 260 main, stock needle in the 3rd clip and air screw 1.5 out. I personally think 280 or 290 would be much closer. http://www.fmfracing.com/RiderSupport/JettingCenter
