Joejr915
I put together a 465. It has k&t ported vitos cylinders on it. I am putting it alky from parts I had gathered from the years.I never had a motor on alky and need some help. It has 39 pwks pumper carbs. What should I set the timing at? what should the compression be for a alky motor? Are 39 pwks to small or should it have something have bigger carbs on it? possum
start at +7, compression can be 150-200, 39s are fine

Joejr915
No sure who set them up and can find out what the dumps and needle is in them this weekend
RadarRacing
Correct timing is dependant on squish, porting , and pipes. With small bore pipes you may be in the 8 to 10 range or even more , if you are running big bore pipes 6 to 7 should be a good place to start and probably not need more. banshee332
Set timing at 10. Have tim cut you a set of domes. Crank the pjs all the way open and work your way down.
RadarRacing
Just like 332 said. I agree with him. 39mm pwks are just right and you dont need bigger.
