Keyser Soze
Picked these cylinders up for pretty cheap. Cool head and Pistons included. I couldn't find anything when researching the WSM number. Anyone know what the bore based off the piston number? Also is anyone familiar with that logo? Anyway to tell if they are 4mil or stock strike cylinders other than mounting them up? Thanks in advance. trickedcarbine
Side pic of the logo, and get photos of the intake, the transfers on the bottom, the ports from the top down and a shot of the exhaust. You mentioned you got a head with it. Are the domes stepped? It would help you know if ya 4mm or not. I believe that is a 65mm piston as well. I havent received them in the mail yet and these were the only two pictures I have. I'll follow up with some more pics when they come in. Surfrjag
I think those are sleved stock cyls and 70mm bore wsm pistons. The domes can tell you if its 4mm. Be carefull with the studs because they likely have heilicoils and can be a pita if you pull one or they arent straight

Surfrjag
They are big bore right?? Wsm sleeves go to 70.5 On that piston it says wsm 7000 Do you see how the sleeve is so large it goes into the stud threads. Some have heilicoils. You got them cheap because they are probobly junk. Maybe you can get a time or keen cert to work if those heilicoils are screwed up

trickedcarbine
Ya, sleeve is right in the water jacket. (IE, so large they choke transfer ports)
registered user
(IE, so large they choke transfer ports) you meen choked worse than they already are. its a shame yamaha didnt widen the bores another 20mm or so

If that was the case, you would be seeing 100 hp stock cyls that have curves like JD's redline 4mm with SLP's. There are Spread Bore Cyls and cases for the bigger stroke stuff. This is the exact reason why the modern 250cc stuff can make such good power for their size. One big single cylinder with massive amounts of transfer, all the while there is still tons more material to remove.
trickedcarbine
Looks like athenasThey are definitely stock. The Athena's have a few discrepancies if you know what to look for. But to the untrained eye they look stock. Still junk though.
Keyser Soze
Got time to mess with them a little today. Someone mentioned checking to see if the domes are cut for a 4mi. It's been so long since I've had a cool head I can't tell. Here are some pics for you pros Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
