ECshee
What temps are you jetting for? Is this a reference for the current 20*-30* weather? OR is this a reference for 80* weather?
bsock
Sorry. 60*-90* if that's a fair range for referenc. Ohio spring/summer temps. Brandon Edited February 6, 2015 by bsock
sleeper06
Mix 32:1 on premix 300 main 30 pilot one turn out on screw needle middle , this is ballpark what your compression at trying to see if you need that much octane
bsock
Haven't got it buttoned up yet to check it. I have a source for the 110 for cheap figure I'd go ahead and run it? Any I'll affects of using it if not needed? Brandon
trickedcarbine
Running a motor with to much octane won't hurt it, but performance would be down if the motor truely doesn't need it. If the motor isn't making a lot of compression or isn't using to much timing, the fuel won't all light and burn completely. When you could potentially take that same motor and feed it premium and actually have a better output then it would on race fuel.
bsock
Awesome learn something new everyday I will get it together and check the compression and report back thanks again! Brandon

trickedcarbine
That's borderline premium. If you give it timing and have a fairly tight squish clearance you may wanna blend fuel or see if you can find 98 anywhere.
bsock
Finally finished all my mods and I can't get the bike to start. I have tried running the idle screws in a 1/2 turn at a time till bottoming out got it to try and fire thats it. Has spark brand new fuel everything tight and new plugs. I put 30 pilots 300 mains 4th clip from blunt end of stock needle. Slides are in sync by eye. The garage is 60* I don't know if that would cause any issues? I set the float level and installed new float needles also. Removed all tors stuff including the black box by the fuel tank. As I stated before I'm carb stupid so maybe this is something small I guess I'm looking for a starting point so I can move forward. I flattened out the boss for the idle screw so I don't think that's an issue. Thanks for any ideas or help and sorry for the long post. 1-1 1/2 out on the mixture screw. bansman76
Choke tube in place ?
trickedcarbine
The jets are in the ball park. I would imagine you need to look over the harness work you did for the tors. Then start checking other electrical if the tors stuff checks out.
slobanshee
Check for spark. Make sure slides arnt backward
bsock
Choke tube is in place. I just unplugged it all or is there another step I missed? I'll look to see if I find any bare wires or anything of that nature. Getting spark to both cylinders. The ping marks show up in the glass so assume they are in the proper carbs? Thanks for the help guys makes things a little easier for me! I'll update after I search the harness. Keep the ideas rolling.
