bansman76
stator side crank bearing let go on my current build ( stock stroke,mx hardcore port,21cc domes, pro circuits,+4 timing,dc stator, chariot cages, boyseen petals,65.00mm pistons, stock carbs) top end still has 145 psi per cylinder. 2 questions guys 1. should i go with a 4mil stock cylinder setup since the cases are split ? 2. either way i go, which crank gets the majority vote. hot rods or vitos ? this bike is only a trail rider with the occasional drag race with buddies here and there. used to be all tight woods riding but that park closed down so now its mostly open trails( shared with sxs, jeeps, rock crawlers) and i still like to play on some hillclimbs . your opinions and thoughts are appreciated.. sheerider11
4 mil. the little bit of extra tq and power shows on the long runs. There is plenty of stock strokes that do just as well if not better then a lot of 4 mils. a buddy has a stock stroke long rod that kicks some serious ass. But a well set up 4 mill will out shine a stock stroke.
bansman76
i have talked to cam and jeff. both say either setup will be great in the woods. just not sure which direction i should go lol edit- i do have another set of cylinders and head ready to be sent out to whoever i choose when i figure out what size motor lol Edited February 3, 2015 by bansman76
sprinklerman
If you have to buy a crank anyway, why not gain some displacement in the process?
bluebanshee98
If your gonna choose between the two then definitely go 4mil. That way once you get used to that and wanna make more power down the road you can go several or cub. Trust me you'll want more power down the road for sure at some point. Even with stock cylinders 4 mil crank will be all so worth it. Edited February 3, 2015 by bluebanshee98

trickedcarbine
If you're the type to always want more, just do the 4mil. But you need to do more to make a 4mil run correctly. That means a few more bucks. If you just want a simple bolt on motor, a stock stroke should suffice. But if you plan on porting already definitely do the 4mil.
