Zillaguy
So, after riding my bike for 3 yrs with a full restoration, and 4 mil ported stock cylinder. I decided to change things up a bit.. First step was tear down, frame mods, and powder.. First pics are the way the bike has been for the last 3 years.. The rest are what i've done so far.. I'll keep this thread updated, as i go..
Zillaguy
Last pic is the way it sits now.. Waiting on all the hubs, and the spindles to come back from powder.

Hummer84
Looking good! Man I bet you had to carve a good bit of plastic out of them stockers to get those Rockets (if those are Rockets) in there and not melt away your plastics! Zillaguy
Yes, i used my Dremel with a tungsten rotary cutter, and then sanding drums to shape the plastics around the R1's. I have 7/16" clearance around the chambers.. i only took enough off to fit the pipes. .

jigsaw4089
looks nice dude.....Are you planning on doing anything with your fenders or just keeping them stock?
gusto
Looking real good. Can you explain the frame work you've done?
locogato11283
It's too late now, but there was no need to add that extra tube up front. Your electronics will fit nicely on the upper shock mount tube. Looking good though.
Zillaguy
I removed all the unused brackets. i.e stock silencer hangers, coolant bottle tabs, air box tabs, heel guard brackets, TORS box tab, front exhaust bumper tabs, front brake line tabs.. I removed the lower front crossmember, also the front bumper crossmember, and replaced them with chromoly tubing. I also installed a steering stop support. Last but not least, i relocated the electronics up front under the nose plastics.

Zillaguy
looks nice dude.....Are you planning on doing anything with your fenders or just keeping them stock? These were new 3 yrs ago when i restored the bike (its a 94 and was sitting 10yrs when i got it).. i mainly recreational ride, trails, and screwing around, i like the full fenders.. Helps keep mud and water off me. The worst is having wet boxers on a 5hr ride.
