Guest bansheeman654321 Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 ok well im running 220 mains, 25 pilots and the needle is set at 3, all stock except for the mains, but im just unning a dynoport pipe, the temp im running at is well now 50 but soon winter with 20's but my plugs look rich, the are all black and oily, so i dunno what to do, soooomeone help Quote
BenBB Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 If it's rich at 50 it should lean out at 20, just be careful that it's not running TOO lean when it gets cold. That is a 2 into 1 pipe, right? I'd try the same jetting when it gets colder and see how it runs, or do a plug chop and find out for sure on the mains. You need to jet richer when it gets colder, but it sounds like you're on the rich side now. Good luck. Quote
Banchetta Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Black and oily from normal riding right?? That'll give you false reading. You have to run it wide open throttle in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds and shut it down, then pull the plugs....You'll get a totally different result from normal riding....My plugs are always black and oily, but when I run it wot, it turns to a dry brown color...
