satts Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 I have played with idle screws from 1/4 turn out to 2.5 turns out Quote
satts Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 Plugs are dark nearly black and seemed to run the same with 27.5 pilot, no air leaks either Quote
satts Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Float height has been set too Edited January 9, 2015 by satts Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Have you played with the air screws? 290 main sounds lean to be at sea level imo Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Check the choke tube between the carbs. Make sure you don't have the slides in the wrong carbs ( they be backwards if so) Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 It's toting the line for sure since it's been getting cold. I'd try more pilot as well. Quote
satts Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 I tried 310 s but plugs where wet ,,mr Tabor Quote
satts Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 Choke tube is on tight, slides in right way ,have tried between 1/2 a turn out to 2.5 turns on the screws Quote
satts Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 When it idles ,it's fine but if I hit throttle it bogs then revs out fine BUT if I pull choke out it dies as if I'm flooding it? Quote
dirtydownunder Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 fmfs like 27.5-30 pilot. checked coil and stator, cap resistances ? maybe cut 1/2" off the spark wires n screw them back on, if they check out shouldnt be running rich with that jetting in this temp. 30 pilot / 260 main is stock fmf jetting with lid on. so your 290 would be about right with you no lid and hot temp. 1 Quote
