MacRacer1
So I'm building a 4 mil cub on alcohol with shearer inframes. It's going in a stock frame. I'm building it as a dune/drag bike. It has a +10 arm and a marvin shaw on the back, with 11 paddle extremes. What would you guys run for a swingarm and paddles? I'm thinking a +12 with 12 or 14 stags 74ro
Pasi S.
I have no experience of CUB´s or Alcohol, but I would try that +10 and those paddles first before buying anything new. Play with a gearing, air pressure and chassis set up first and see how it hooks. JMHO.

SlowerThanYou
We ran our 443 Cub with a +8 arm with 12 extremes & 14 haulers both 74"-75" RO. It only stood up one time with around 300 passes. It carried about a 6"-12" wheelie to the base of the hill. Super easy launch with the right clutch set-up. possum
since your riding dunes. and possibly hill shooting I would try the 11s. thats about right
MacRacer1
Thanks everyone. I think im going to start out with what i've got right now, but with my 4 mil stock cylinder it spins the tires a lot off the launch. I'll try the 11's, and some other tires and see what I like. With a +12 arm would 14 stags be too much for the motor?
atcandbanshees
Run a 14 arm if your going 14 pdl
MacRacer1
Really? On a 4 mil cub?
m671054
Where do you ride. Sounds 2 me like you are not jockeying correctly or tire pressure and gearing is way off
SlowerThanYou
What is the rider weight? To me, this is one of the most overlooked question when picking a swingarm length.
MacRacer1
I weigh 150 pounds. The motor isn't built yet so there's no "issue", I'm just looking for advice
m671054
At 150lbs if your blazing the tires off on a 10 arm you sitting to far forwards. You need to get more weight over tires. With those tires and arm you should be able to stand that bike up no problem Edited January 4, 2015 by m671054
MacRacer1
I can stand it up if I try, that's not the problem. I know how to ride, but I don't want to bring the front end up much, that's not how you win races.
banshee760
Probly need moré gearing We Run 10 full stag extremes or 12 to 12 half stags w a 12 over arm , a +14 would only work w 14 Padles And good gearing , Depends Also were u ride but id start w A 15/42 And play w that
m671054
You were complaining about spinning the tires but say you can stand it up also. i suggest you figure out where to sit on the bike to get less spin but can control the front end still. More paddle will just bring the front end up easier. Youve got the right stuff you just need to figure out how to make it work.
