cwdaniel
Recently installed chain on a 13 and 41 tooth sprocket combo was a tad long at max adjustment. Too tight at minimum. Now it's stretched a little but still too short to remove a link. It came to me with these sprockets I've assumed were stock. Is it? What tooth count would get it in the adjustable range? cwdaniel
get a half link Source for a strong half link? I have heard that it's not advised on a cycle chain.
registered user
huh how can it be to long at max adjust and to short at shortest adjustment. can probly catch a clue from the clymers manual
hoppedupandcutdown
stock is 14- 41 or 13-42, depending on the year. I have lengthened the adjustment notches forward in the arm to use the 13-41 with a link out of the chain.
cwdaniel
What would going back to a stock ratio do to it's character in the sand. I'm not the rider, just the pit crew. I'm assuming stock ratio adds a little more low end. Sounds counter productive in the sand.
hoppedupandcutdown
Odds are your factory ratio was 14-41, so going back would give more top end. Also all depending on tire size. Going from stock to a 13 front is what gives a little more low end. I've tried both and don't see much difference in the sand. I like the 13 for tight trails though. rubberneck
Welcome to the fucked up design of the stock banshee carrier and chain adjusters. There isnt enough travel to get a full link of adjustment. This is just one of the reasons to ditch the set up and go to a round house carrier and swinger.
