Uf21
Has anyone had any issues with a bent rim that has been hammered back to normal, well almost normal? Is it safe to use again? My front stocker is bent at the lip from hitting a big ass rock.
Uf21
I have bent a couple stockers back. No issue if you do it correctly. Use a rubber hamlet. I bent a douglas aluminum rim on the trails to where it wouldn't hold air, had to use something to bend it back and it ripped later that day. Mine is bent to the point that it doesn't hold air. Do you get any wobbles while riding after its been bent back?
locogato11283
I bend the wheels on my hillclimb bike almost every race. I use a rubber hammer and knock them back into place. Mine have never come off the bead though.

gusto
Speaking of rims, whats everyones favourite brand? I have had better luck with Douglas than ITP. Just bought some STI, heard good things about them. Edited December 8, 2014 by gusto

Uf21
Thanks, I'll just hammer it back normal since most of you do it all the time. Saves spending $100+ on buying 1 used rim.
BUILDER
Shit I have had to straighten almost every wheel on my bikes. Bend the shit out of them all the time.
