m671054
Dumb ? But when referencing arm weights do most people include the weight of the arm. And is it total or each arm?
sprinklerman
Dumb ? But when referencing arm weights do most people include the weight of the arm. And is it total or each arm?The guys I've talked with and bounced ideas off of, measure the bolt, nut, and any weight added. Not the arm itself. we also would discuss individual arm weight if it was staggered, along with total weight.
m671054
In that case does the 60 grams referenced earlier seem excessive to anyone else. Just the nut and bolt is around 10 gram.
trickedcarbine
From what I've read about beefy,he's dragging in the dunes. Imo, clutch tuning on such an ever changing, inconsistent surface has proved futile. Lock it up and go. Focus on tire, suspension, and chassis setup instead.Totally makes sense. dozer
In that case does the 60 grams referenced earlier seem excessive to anyone else. Just the nut and bolt is around 10 gram. when i said 60 grams thats only the weights. not the bolt, nut and weight. 60 grams as in 1 10 gram weight on each arm. add around another 10 grams of weight on each arm for the nut and bolt. m671054
Thank you for clearing that up. I was trying to figure out how you got that much mass in that small of a space.
BANSHEEBEEFM2M
So should i put 60 grams of more weight on there too? Does being a fat ass wear clutches out more? Seriously. Bein that im 275 lbs. And im my own jockey would an 8 plate help me or is thst irrelevant
m671054
Clutches slip due to total load on an engine. If an engine has less power than clutch it stalls. If it has more power than clutch it slips. How much tire, what size arm, bike weight and realistic hp figures all come into play. I would guess a 421 with a plus 10 and 12-14 paddle could use stock springs with around 15 grams per arm. also would depend on sand fluffy or wet. possum
I would do all medium springs or 3hd 3 medium. with 20g per arm(includes bolt, weight, washers and nuts in total). Ive ran that setup with 3 stock 3 medium and blew thru my clutch. lost handle after 4 runs.
