rjayb
I think a banshee motor in a donor yfzr as soon as a lot of them start hitting the part out cycle would be a solid build. You could accommodate for most of the forward center of gravity difference of the 350 motor with a little increased ride height. Maybe instead of 1/4" taller up front, go 3/4" Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
possum
I think all these different cad drawings and getting several people involved to build a chassis that might not even work. The whole thing just sounds stupid
rjayb
Second this. That or the yfzx chassis. Once the prices drop some.I went and looked at one at the showroom a while back. Bottom cradle is steel so fab would be no more of an issue than the yfz's that have been done. It wouldn't be cheap but LED could make some in frames that would bolt right up. It's just a waiting game for me. Mass part outs aren't far off. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
locogato11283
This dude is a perfect match for Thacker. They're both totally clueless.
n2otoofast4u
You cannot convince me that ANYONE with brains is going to get involved with manufacturing a chassis that is built around a motor that has not been sold in the states for nearly a decade! This guy and his "team" are either filthy rich with few social skills, or dumb as fuck and trying to figure out how to make this pipe dream a reality. In a few very short years Yamaha will no longer produce OEM parts that support these shit boxes which adds to the uselessness of this. Isn't this Thacker nitwit the same tard that had a steel clutch basket built?
trickedcarbine
did you lower the steering stem mount Tricked because it looks too high as per factory which contibutes as to why banshees bumpsteer like a bitchLowered a little. There was rake added and spindles were swapped for 450 stuff. Tie rods ran from stem to the bottom side of the spindle mount hole. Look for a thread called Project Frame Chop. Just a quick way to do the front end with decent results and minimal fabrication/equipment. There were still a few things to sort out but it carved pretty well. camatv
i guess noone read my damn post huh??? JUST PUT THE FUCKING BANSHEE MOTOR IN THE YFZ FRAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES the travel is not AS important at the linkage leverage and the way the complete frame will react to the rear end. in my >>>>>>>>>>>>>>experienced opinion<<<<<<<<<<<<<< the yfz rear geo is far superior to the 250r OR anything the banshee can be made to work using existing banshee rear geo. YFZ 450 REAR IS CR500 STYLE SETUP

Thack82
Sounds like you guys have it all figured out, but not one single person has mentioned or addressed the obvious issue with the with the YFZ/YFZR's symmetrical cradle geometry when the Banshee motor is mounted in the frame offset, Yamaha engineered the Banshee's odd shaped cradle geometry for a reason. With the YFZ symmetrical cradle geometry will be starting out out of balance right from the get go which causes rider fatigue and roll overs. I would think your fearless leader would have figured this out by now, he lands on the left tires and rolls his bike half the passes he makes up a staircase. I wouldn't put a whole lot of faith in Zilla says either when it comes to anything Quad related. How's his Throttle Body EFI Conversion Kit doing these days? Lol. I've always looked at things like this.... Take a step back and look at what's been accomplished by the person your getting advice from and what they have. That fat slob had a stock stroke stock cylinder Banshee with a mono-pipe, a mono carb, and a old set of 14" long hand me down Works Shock's from the late 80's or early 90's and he parted his junk out about a year and a half ago. He doesn't even own a Banshee now. Lol, he's a joke but he fits in perfect with Bennett and all the idiots and misfits that make up this forum. Anyway, I've wasted enough time here reading the stupid replies that are infested with bad inaccurate information and low intelligence responses. Don't bother twisting up what I've said in this reply in a attempt to troll me back in. I'll check back in in a year or so and see how much progress everybody has made when I need to kill some time. locogato11283
Hi Jim. Ripped anyone off lately? Or did you learn the difference between billet and forged?
Bennett131
You mean billet and polished. Or welded and not welded. He dogs on you about your efi and he still doesn't have a frame? Wonder if he ever made the lsok ride to race sprinkles...
