n2otoofast4u
I mean am I the only one who noticed this gem?!?! That is/was Davids (blazen582) frame. Was a turbo busa that was all aluminum. He bought it complete and this happened first weekend out. I forget who made it. (was a 3 letter name as I remember) He was airlifted after this crash. BB3
By the time you get the aluminum thickness to equal the tensile strength of Chromoly or IT there is no real weight loss advantage and imo Aluminum is way to soft and brittle to be used in a application like that. Every material has its place in certain application but aluminum does not belong in a steering stem application. If ya dont believe me read the link i posted. http://www.ihpva.org/projects/practicalinnovations/materials.html My question is 3#s lighter worth your life? JTmachining
B3 facts about material per application don't matter here at BHQ. Let alone a steering stem with torsional loads.
