You are arguing with everyone and in the long run you are going to cost yourself more money than shipping would be and see such a small gain in HP it will not be even close to worth it!! Plain and simple dude save your money up and ship your cylinders to the US and get them ported!!!!!!!!! That is the one and only answer to your question unless you want to buy aftermarket cylinders!!!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a 4mil with 795s and a spacer will result in 4mm more exhaust port height over the piston crown.  If that is the case, you'll be making great top end, but you'll be pretty deficient on low end power. Don't get the Vito's pistons.  They'll give you a nice gain, but they won't work well with custom domes or any decent builder's porting.  Matter-of-fact, don't get any pistons until you have the cylinders off and shipped to a builder.  If the builder recommends you have the cylinders bored, buy pistons through that dealer.

 

Just save up and send the cylinders to a good builder.

 

As for custom domes, I know that Redline and Noss Machine does them.  Redline charges $85/set. 

 

BUT, you need to look at something.  Of all the guys running some very strong bikes, they all have high-quality parts.  You can get some things off of ebay, but you have to be very selective and do research. 

 

Get these:

Custom domes for pump gas

porting

VF4s

Power lid

Sorry but did I miss something? I don't think the guy was arguing I think hes just not keen to send his cylinders off to get ported because of shipping prices the hassle an what not..he did say in the beginning he knew we would mention porting which everyone knows is the obvious answer to get more hp

already have the timming plate set at +4 i have boyesen power reeds as for carbs some people tell me its currently not necessary with my modss any thoughts

Carbs will do nothing for you at this point other than burn more fuel.

You are correct on the spacer moving times, and it's definitely better to use regular pistons with actual port work. But how would the Vito's SS pistons not work with good domes? Do the reliefs fugg up the flame travel? Just never heard of that and not sure I follow?

The crown is designed to mimic the dimensions of a well cut dome while paired with the stock head.  Combine that with custom domes and you could have a negative squish band.  Advance the timing and you're hosting a detonation orgy.

 

I'm not 100% sure that the relief impairs the flame travel, but I'm sure it doesn't help.  I mean, you have 2 raised edges which the flame will eddy across both during burn and when the exhaust port opens.  When the piston approaches TDC and compresses the AFM, it now doesn't have only one place to go.  Now, the mixture is divided, with a portion being superheated by the high edges that see all the flame action.  Not to mention that the flame doesn't have quite the wedge-effect over a good 30% of the piston crown. 

 

The way I see it is that Vito's had a great idea and put some research into it.  They improved on the porting and squish band and offered the pistons for less than the cost of a low quality port job.  Thing is, if you actually perform the modifications that this is intended to mimic, you'll see a LOT more than the claimed 8hp of the Vitos SS piston.

 

OP, we (or at least I) was aware that you didn't want to drop the money on shipping and porting.  We just recommended it because it will absolutely be worth it.  OR, you can keep an eye out for a set of ported stock cylinders on here.  They usually go for $250ish w/o pistons.

Here's a thought:  Call the site sponsors and see if they can get their hands on an extra set of cylinders for you.  Explain the predicament and I'm sure they'll help out or at least point you in the right direction.

 

I also know that Flotek used to sell his port maps for pretty cheap and would basically walk you through the process.  Several amateurs ended up making more power with his port than he did lol.  I know that Flotek isn't a very liked name around here, but a Grizzly flex shaft, a set of carbides, and a port map of his will get you some pretty nice results. 

 

Oh, and I believe the consensus is that VF4s > Boyesen.

Shipping isn't the deal breaker, it's the import duties some countries charge, even on your own shit coming home.

exactly my country has tight policies on shipping if i want to recieve my parts back i have to pay extra 200-300 dollars for the import tax
