Rapture
Just installed a 1/4 turn vortex twist throttle (tors eliminate). Installation was easy, but the problem is it seems to be quite stiff when turning it and also not very smooth. It kind of judders rather than a progressive smooth feeling. Anyone had this before or got any ideas? Ive sprayed load of grease down the cable too.

banshee den
If you unhook it from the twister does the twister move freely? I have had the twister be screwed up before on dirt bikes. Edited November 8, 2014 by banshee den
Rapture
Yep thats real smooth with out the cable connected. I know the streamline cable is 2inch oversized but can't see this making a difference.
banshee den
its not screwed up where the cable turns to 2 cables for the carbs?
Rapture
Nope I've had the whole thing apart, checked and greased everything. I think it could just be a shit streamline cable. Probably why they don't make them anymore.. Heres a vid anyway <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/BFBu5AqH1L4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

trickedcarbine
That's fucky. Pul the cable, hold it vertical and run brake cleaner through it till it comes clear. Then hit it with WD-40 or some equivalent lube. If it's still choppy get another cable. Pull the slides and check for flaking or dings. Little lube on them as well. By the way, that thing is comin along. Looking clean for sure.

trickedcarbine
Those are kinda nice. Don't forget a rag over the motor to catch the funk if you're not removing the cable though.
Rapture
I guess i could try a cable lube tool. I have already sprayed loads of lithium grease down there though.

jbooker82
Cable lube is for cables, don't use lithium grease. Its thick and heavy and wont make its way clear through the cable. I like to use Champions Choice Cable Life lube with a two thumb screw lube injector.
