kenyounot
Thanks oldskool that was helpful I think the brake system(minus pads and lines), the seat, the engine and stator will be the only thing I'll be buying used on this bike. Oh and the frame and harness.
oldskool
There's a member on here that will make you a custom harness. He has different ones, this way you don't have all the wires and plugs that would go to tors, ect. that you don't need Kompulsive Concepts

03DMshee
If ya want a quick hop up in performance of your brakes source a set of front calipers from a YFZ450...twin piston from factory and they are a direct bolt on...getting the YFZ master will be an added bonus
trickedcarbine
Call JD for larger diameter rotors to really take advantage of the 450 caliper swap
kenyounot
That's a great idea I'll do that. Direct bolt on with the new cylinder calipers and rotors? So obviously I'll need a yfz450 right handlebar set up(master cylinder) with the yfz450 master cylinder for the rear also?
trickedcarbine
I'm know nothing about the rear 450 master, but the a front 450 caliper will work, and the banshee rear master will power it just fine with a braided line.
kenyounot
why wouldn't the banshee front master power the yfz450 calipers?
03DMshee
why wouldn't the banshee front master power the yfz450 calipers? The banshee master will work fine but the YFZ one works better thats all....
kenyounot
Just an update the frame will be here by Thursday, sending right over to get powder coated. Thinking of doing black frame with orange plastics and orange a-arms. I decided to cancel my bundle deal on the +2 a-arms/elka stage 3's and go with LT american star arms because why not. Going to work from front to back and then up. So Monday I'll be ordering the whole braking assembly plus hubs and spindles. Question, with the steering stem what do I need besides the handle bar mounts to attach it to the frame? Also another thought, I've been searching ebay for engines last couple of a days. Really not finding any used ones for a price that would allow me to go full rebuild serval reasonably. Seen a couple 421's already rebuilt for like 1500, any thoughts on that? sprinklerman
Definitely forget the idea of buying a used motor on ebay. Better off buying used on here (from reputable seller) . Or better yet , build new from scratch, ,,at least the crank, etc.
kenyounot
I'm an environmental engineer. Well If i bought used from eBay i'd do a standard rebuild. And I didn't want to start with a roller or complete bike, I would've torn it down anyways and knowing me would've replaced everything on it. Figured I start fresh.
